Interesting as it is the same draw that brought new folks from the European theater and then from America east to west.
Several of us Researchers are tracing Henrys, Andrews, and others through this area, through the mid west and even an Andrew to Osage, Alberta, Canada. I even met one while panning for gold on the Bonanza Creek, junctioning into the Klondike just east of Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada in celebration of the Trail of 98 a few years ago.
I have uncles: Felix William, Henry, Charles, and George all born in the mid 1800's, in the Miami Valley, Ohio. They spread out all over this country. I too got around halv this world, but returned, as did my grandfather to this our home and continued to raise livestock and my family. I do have a list of the family with dates and birth and death places and some home addresses. One never knows if he will spot some one he has been seeking. I have traced this family from Montgomery County, Ohio, thru Kokomo, Ind., Chicago, Ill., Vermillion, Ind. Ogle, Ill, and the coasts of this country.
One note. Jesse was probably not this one fellow's only name. Many of these Brethern had a middle name. And they used different names at different times of their life. ie: my great grandfather John Allen Coffman went by either name. One of his sons, was David Coffman for his first 3 marriages, then was Daniel at his 4th. Now not all children of thest families had middle names, that I know of. The next twist is nidknames, and this family used em.
Oh Well if you ever get to a roadblock and want to look at a different (Possibly) bunch of Coffmans who moved thru Illinois, My data is available for researchers. Ralph Aaron Bauer [email protected]
