Hello George,
So, you grew up in Watsonville, correct? Did you end up in the same school as Bud Coffman and his brothers? When did you move out?
Please tell me what you know about Lucy Hesterly as I know nothing more than her maiden name to be Lucy Logan. The Lucy Hesterly you went to school withmight be Ben Hesterly's sibling. I have their parents names as being: William Alford and Mary Clark.
I have more information on the Coffman line and it ends in Hannibal Mo. Lucy married Ben Hesterly of Rose Bud Arkansas. She died in childbirth to my Grandmother's brother, Logan in Arkansas.
As for the Coffman lineage I have been able to salvage it goes like this:
Delmar Ray Coffman (Bud)Delmar Roy Jr COFFMAN was born 2 Sep 1904 in Van Buren Arkansas. He died 19 Mar 1972 in Watsonville, Ca and was buried 21 Mar 1972 in Pioneer Cemetary Watsonville Ca. Delmar married Thelma O HESTILY on 27 Mar 1926 in Fort Smith Arkansas.
Delmar Roy I COFFMAN was born 6 Jul 1886 in Hannibal Mo. He died 19 Jan 1972 in Van Buren Arkansas and was buried 21 Jan 1972 in Gracelawn Cemetery. Delmar married Bessie MCBRIDE on 24 Nov 1900 in Van Buren Arkansas.
Charles R COFFMAN was born 1849 in Indiana. He died in Hannibal Mo. Charles married Belle WIKER.
Information taken from the 1880 census records for Marion county Hannibal MO.:
Resides on 3rd Street white male born 1850 age 30 born in Indiana was a volunteer fireman
States born in Indiana and father born in Kentucky
Brother Aaron lived with him in time of 1880 census index. Aaron was born in Indiana. States Father was born in
Kentucky.
Belle WIKER was born in Pa. She died in Hannibal Mo.
from the 1880 census records:
White Female age 27 years born 1853 keeps house born in Pennsylvania. Father born in PA
J.R COFFMAN was born 1820 in Indiana. He married Sarah J.
Sarah J was born 1826 in Kentucky.
If you can help me fill in the gaps from here, it would help me alot. Thanks, Trina
