May - or may not be a help.
Banks says the line runs from Tristram 3 to Peter 2 then Nicholas 1 - with Tristram 3 and wife Dionis (STEVENS) being the immigrant and residents of Nantucket.
Banks cites Starbuck and Gardiner as sources. I realize that these are NOT a good citations, but perhaps he goes into more detail.

Dukes Co MA website: www.history.vineyard.net/gene.htm.

Go to section on COFFIN, check out what Charles Banks found and published in his 1911 books "History of Martha's Vineyard (MA). 3 Volumes, but Vol.III is the one with Genealogies.
One of the interesting given names in this group is using "Dinah" for females. Seems to be the only New England family who used that name. This may be spelling variation of Dionis.
I am NOT a COFFIN although my Dukes Co MA DUNHAM line (Daniel 4,3; Jonathan 2, John 1) names a daughter Dinah, she was b. ca 1721, Edgartown MA.
His wife is the only "unknown" in 12 generations of DUNHAM, and I secretly harbor the hope that she is found to be an 'off island' COFFIN. She sure doesn't appear within the Dukes Co MA lineages. Since I am a double DUNHAM at Gen 6, finding this wife my line would clean some things up.
Lots of speculation, NO proof, so if you want to discuss this privately, just email me.
