Re: "Jeremiah Speight born circa 1780-1790 married Lydia Moore, dau. of Charles Moore of Perquimans. Lydia had a sister, Penny (Penelope?) who married a COFFIELD. " There was a John Coffield b. ~1792 m. 9 Mar 1819 Perquimans Co NC to Penelope Moore d. Hancock Co IN before 1850. I believe John's father's name was also John. Penelope died between 1823 and 1830. Their daughter, Margaret, married James H Jones on 4 July 1844 in Hancock Co IN. They later settled in Jefferson Co IA in the early 1850's. I would appreciate the opportunity to share info.
