I found in the Caldwell County, NC census from 1870 and 1880 an Elisha and Mary Ann Coffey with sons (among others) John b. 1870 and George b.cir. 1873 (thus not listed in the 1870 census). I am wondering if Marvin and Elisha could be the same person.
