I am searching for the parents of Richard Alexander Coffey. Richard was born Jan 10, 1851 and died March 4, 1916. Richard is buried at Speedwell Baptist Cemetery, in Hawkins Co, TN. No parent information on his death certificate. Census information states his parents were born in NC.
Richard is shown in the 1860 census with his mother Winnie Coffey and siblings, George, Harrison, Jane and Martha Coffey in Hawkins Co, TN. They lived next door to John Scarbrough and his family. I found marriage information where a Winnie Coffey married John Scarbrough Feb 23, 1866 in Hawkins Co, TN. I believe Richard's father died between 1851-1860.
Richard married Jimmima (Mima) Jane Long in Hawkins Co, TN. Richard and Mima Coffey had the following children:
Edward Washington Coffey - b) 8/31/1873 d) 1924 - married
Dora Henson - my great grandparents
Julia K Coffey - b) 4/1876 d) 7/27/1907
John Isaac Coffey - b) 6/26/1879 d) 2/13/1897
Winnie M Coffey - b) 1880
