According to a copy of The Coffey Family Bible sent to me from Sandy Warde, the following may clear up a few things.
1. Benjamin Coffey’s wife Exea (correct spelling Exea) Saphronia Stepp.
2. One of Benjamin’s sons Lawson H. Coffey marriages. In a hand written ledger it says: "1st wife Matilda Adeline Litten b 25 Oct. 1827 m. MO.2/1/1851. 2nd wife Mary A. Litten (couldn’t be ma of Columbus he born 1845. 3rd wife Elazabeth Ann Campbell born 18 Jan. 1836. m. MO. 1856. (ma of 8 children) and died 6 Mar. 1915"
3. Another brother of Lawson H, - William Wiley Coffey married Malinda Emaline Litten, (Matilda Adeline Litten’s twin sister. B. 25 Oct. 1827 d. 25 May 1915.
4. Sarah (Sally) Ann Coffey m. William Kinston Litten.
Matilda Adeline Litten – Lawson Howard Coffey’s 1st wife
Malinda Emaline Litten – William Wiley Coffey’s wife
William Kinston Litten – Sarah (Sally) Ann Coffey’s husband all had the same parents Joel and Sarah M Litten.
According to Lawson's Obituary,it says he Married Polly Adoline Litton in 1850, had two boys, she died 1857. He then married Eliza Ann Campbell on 8/15/1858. I think the Mary A. Litten (2nd wife) is a mistake. I also think that Matilda Adeline Litten(Lawsons first wife) was nicknamed or went by Mary or just (Polly) Adeline Litten. I think they are one in the same.
