I am trying to help my cousin find his grandfather. He believes that his name was (Lester?)Coffey and that he lived in IL in the early 1900's. My cousin's father was born in IL and was adopted by a man named ___ Abel and moved with that family to Davenport, IA. Lester Coffey Abel was born in 1906 and had 3 sisters. Their names were Olive, Bertha, and Marge. As far as I know, the sisters remained with the Coffey family and were not adopted out.
