I have Coffey relatives here in Texas. My Coffey's ( my grandmother's maiden name) I am not sure where they came from or how they arrived in Texas, but they considered themselves Black Dutch. I have always heard the term Black Dutch. But I did over hear my grandmother asking my grandfather what kind of Indian was her Dad again, cuz she forgot. So who knowss??? If anyone have any Texas Coffey's that are Native american or "Black Dutch" please let me know.
