My GGGfather was Samuel Littlejohn who married Sarah Cofer daughter of Thomas Winters Cofer and Mary Ferguson. Thomas Winter Cofer (also Coffer) of King and Queen County, settled in Prince William County (later Fairfax) on or about April 20, 1733, when he leased 150 acres at the mouth of Pohick Creek. This Sarah, who died about 1820, had he first child, Thomas Littlejohn, about 1766 so I assume she was born before 1750.

In addition, the first Littlejohn in America was Oliver Littlejohn, my GGGGGfather, ca 1660-1704) Oliver had four children, two boys and two girls. His daughter Mary first married William Withers of VA, and her second husband was Francis Coffer of VA. In other words, Samuel Littlejohn was related to these families when he married the daugter of Thomas Winters Cofer above.

Can send copies of back up info if interested. Please e-mail as I do not visit this site often. Very intersted in following Coffer/Cofer line. Thanks

Glenn Littlejohn
