Thanks, Phil, for the reply. I have learned a lot about the Coffelt family since my posting. However, I appreciate the information that you sent. My William Roy was a witness to the original deed between John Coffelt and Andrew and Susannah Ross. I believe John's son mentioned him when the deed was registered in court. William Roy and his wife Mary Anne Coffelt seemed to follow John and Rebecca Coffelt from Greene to Blount and then on to Marion County. William's son George W. Roy is found on the 1830 Census of Marion Co. William had already moved to St. Francis Co, AR by that time. Georege W. Roy followed in about 1835.

I have no proof, but I believe that Mary Ann is a sister to Rebecca Coffelt. She seems to be too old to have been a daughter of Philip Coffelt's older sons. Also, one of William and Mary Anne Coffelt Roy's sons was named Philip.

Have you come across William Roy (or Ray) in your research?
