Thank you for the interesting data on Col. Coffee. The Arkansas regiment came from the pension record of Sgt. Butler's widow, Mary Ann. She cited his service in Co. B, Coffee's "Arkansas" Regiment, serving 1862 - 1865. The roster shows Sgt. Butler in Co. C. I've been told this regiment began in mid 1862 under the command of Col. Coffee and was first known as the 6th MO Cavalry. In December 1862 it was redesignated the 11th MO Cavalry and commanded by Col. Gideon W. Thompson. The roster also showed two Stanfields in Co. A. This caught my attention as Sgt. Butler's widow's maiden name was Stanfield. Thanks again.
