Christopher Columbus Coffee, born 9 May 1818 in Telfair, GA, died 22 Nov 1882; buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Madison, Madison Co., FL.He was spouse of Mary Kaziah Rogers and son of John E. Coffee and Ann Penelope Bryan.
John was born Jan 8, 1782, son of Peter Coffee and Sarah Smith. He was general in the GA Militia Creek War, 1814; GA Senate 1819-1827; Representative from GA 1833-36.He was also a cousin of another Gen. John Coffee, friend, confidant, business partner and bodyguard of Gen. - later president - Andrew Jackson.

Peter was b 1750 in Ireland, and died in Hancock Co., GA in 1820.He served in the VA Continental Army as a private in Capt. Benj. Casey's 12th VA Regt.He also served in Capt. Michael Bower's company, in Col. James Wood's Regiment, and drew a pension for his service.
Sarah Smith was from Prince Edward Co., VA.In addition to John, they had children Elizabeth, Susanna, Nancy, Sarah, Joshua, Mary, Cynthia, Martha, and perhaps a Joshua.Peter had a brother named Joshua who came to America with his.The cousin John mentioned above was son of this Joshua.
