Well, your James Franklin Coffee could be the son of Elijah Coffee/Coffey who was my g grandfather's brother. He lived in Calhoun/Cleburne Co. AL. However, there were other Coffee families. One prominent family was up near Florence, AL. Another was in Etowah Co. and went to TX and OK. They were descendants of Edmond Coffey, son of Lewis Coffey. Have you checked with the Coffee Cousins Clearinghouse? One similarity with my family is the name Franklin. Elijah Coffey's brother m. Nancy Jane Bennett d. of John Franklin Bennett. Sandy Otos
