I had Coffey relatives in New York. Mine supposedly came in 1860 or so but I am not sure of that. They came from County Weastmeath in Ireland. I understand that the Coffeys travelled quite a bit but a large family settled in Westmeath but some were driven out to Roscommon, and surrounding areas.
My great grandmother's name was Bridget Coffey. She died in Ireland at childbirth but her brothers, Thomas, Christopher and Matthew came and settled here.

There is also another family of Coffeys that I believe settled in Western New York.
