My files show JOHN COFFEY, b15 Oct 1776 in Burke Co., NC. Wife was ELIZABETH RUCKER. He d 15 Mar 1845 in Grainger Co., TN. His father was Benjamin, and mother was Polly Hayes. Married Elizabeth, b. 6 Jan 1787 in Wilkes Co., NC, d. 22 Mar 1855. Children were Ausborne, b. 1805, NC; Colby, b. 23 Oct 1806, NC; Elizabeth, b. 14 Oct 1810; Benjamin, b. 8 Feb 1808; Nancy, b 1811, d. 20 20 1896, Rockcastle Co., KY; John Jackson, b. 12 Jan 1812; Margaret E. "Peggy", b. 28 Feb 1822; Sarah Lucinda, b. 1823; William, b. 31 Oct 1828 and Catherine, b. 10 Aug 1834.
