I'm not sure that the Georgia John Coffey fought in the Battle of New Orleans. He participated in the War of 1812, but I believe that only the TN John Coffey was actually in the 1814 battle at New Orleans.

TN John and his ragged band of volunteers bivouaced along the Amite River, near Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, waiting for word from New Orleans that sufficient flints for their rifles had been found. When word came that a few kegs of flints had been located, John and his troops moved on towards New Orleans.
