I am trying to see if there is a trail to follow:

Colby Rucker married Sarah Roberts in Wilkes County, NC; then moved to Grainger County, TN where two of their daughters married Coffees.

My 4g-grandparents were Ann Vandergriff and William Roberts married in Wilkes County, NC. They lived in Grainger County 1800-1810 and were in the same neighborhood as Colby Rucker. The 1840 census for Hamilton County shows a John Coffee next to my Roberts. Were they cousins?

Thanks,

Dan
