Thanks. I don't know if the H.C. Coffee I am inquiring about is Hiram C. Coffee. H.C. Coffee could be Henry C. Coffee. All I have is his first initials and a photo of him. I know H.C. Coffee was from Bedford County Virginia and that is where g.g.g.g grandparents William and Mary (McAllister) Coffee were living in February 1775. Since H.C. Coffee and William and Mary Coffee were in Bedford County Virginia, H.C. Coffee may be related to them, unless his surname was Coffey. There was a Coffey store in Beford Co. Virginia. My ancestors have maintained the "Coffee" surname as indicated by the 1829 court records when Peter Coffee was convicted of forgery in the Old Bailey in London. In 1837, as a result of the felony conviction, Peter Coffee was transported to the Dumfries Dock in the Virginia Colony by Jonathan Forward, a prosperous London tobacco merchant, on the passenger and cargo ship "Forward Gally."

H.C. Coffee may have been a grandson or great grandson of one of William and Mary Coffee's sons, Abner, Dise, or Pleasant Coffee. I know H.C. Coffee was not a grandson of David or Joshua M. Coffee, who were also sons of William and Mary Coffee. David Coffee was my g.g.g. grandfather. I know the descendants of my g.g.g. grandparents David and Sytha (Meadows) and also those of Joshua M. and Jane (Trousdale) Coffee and none of them werre H.C. Coffee. Joshua and Mary Coffee were never in Bedford County Virginia. Joshua and mary moved from Buckingham Co. Virginia to Warren Co. Tennessee.
