Thanks so much for replying! I am wondering if Augusta Prudence could have been a granddaughter of James W. and Prudence Taylor Stephenson but I have no proof. Have not found her in census records yet before her marriage. In my family records I have her birthdate as March 4, 1889. She married Samuel Simpson July 24, 1907. She died between 1920 and 1929 in Dema, Luna County, NM. Her children included Samuel Franklin-1909, Grace Louise-1911, Oliver Owen 1914, and Winnie Augusta-1919.
I also wonder about the possibility of Augusta Prudence being kin to the Irma Stephenson that married Thomas Hartsfield here in Hempstead County. Am also trying to help someone else establish a relationship between a Mary Moxley (possibly maiden name of Stephenson) and Augusta Prudence.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks, Nina
