First generation was Edward. His daughter, Martha was second generation. She married Joshua Stapp, or Stepp in Essex Co., VA c1718-21. They had children: John; Joseph; Joshua, Jr; Thomas; James; Annester; Eve; Elizabeth. Some researchers believe that there were three additional daughters.

Annester m 6 Aug 1751 to Capt. William Simms.

My info comes from a number of sources in my library, among which are the Marvin Coffey book (see Coffey Cousins webpage at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/6233/coffeycousins.html); Coffee-Coffey Scrapbook, Vol. I by Gene Brewington; Coffee-Gilbreath-Turnbow Families by Elmer C. Gilbreath and Delam Turnbow Freeman; documents and other info submitted to the Coffey Cousins newsletter by other researchers; Descendants of Salathial Coffey by W. T. "Bill" and Pearl Dungan; The Coffey Families by Lyman Coffee; The Coffey Family by Edythe Whitley (Rucker); various family and society newsletters no longer in publication; assorted books and other publications whereever I find Coffee/y info.

Any information provided is always subject to independent confirmation by subsequent research.

Hope this helps!

Jack
