Hello Jack!

My information, handed down to me from grandparents, states that Peter Coffee had a son, Peter Jr., who had a son named John that later became General John Coffee of Georgia. Peter Sr. had a brother named Joshua, who also had a son named John that also became a General John Coffee. Both were supposedly close personal friends of General Andrew Jackson. My concern is which one of these General Coffee's helped in the victory of the Battle of New Orleans. My grandfather General John Coffee of Georgia was General of Militia in Georgia and a prominent member of the Legislature formany years. It is still unclear to me which General Coffee assisted General Jackson in the War of 1812. Any information you may have regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.
