We've come a long way since this, Zoe, and I think we need to be a lot more cautious - particularly after seeing the DNA results of the COADs of Cornwall and Devon where we now have five different unrelated families living very close to each other.
Now your Wexford Codds have a single ancestor with a very unusual, semitic ancestry. But is this the same as the Pembroke Codds, as history would have us believe? I think this is possible, but almost impossible to be related to the Lincoln Codds, who were probably Norman Lecaudes. You definitely arent related to any of the Cornwall families.
Origin of Welsh Codds? No idea. Surnames are a Norman invention, and were rare in Wales pre union, so anyone with a surname pre 1536 in Wales must have some Norman connection.
