I'm sorry I have not responded sooner, never got your email. Charles "charley" Cockrum was born in Benton Co, MO on January 14, 1941, and died on May 5, 1945. He married my grandmother, Della Rebecca Miller (also born in Benton Co and related to Clell Miller - James gang fame). Charley was one of 9 children of William Reuben, who was married to Victoria Downing -- who must be your side the family. My father, Delferd Cockrum, was one of the five children Charley and Della had (1 died before my dad was born). I remember my father (he has passed away in 1994), talking about the Downing side of the family -- about his Uncle Coss, Sid (I think) and a Viner. Do you know these people?
