Hi Katy I have some information on the Cockrums.Benjamin Cockerham of Edgefield SC was the father of James Cockrum who was under 26 was in the the 1800 census Greenfield SC he married Catherine unknown,they moved to Muhlenburg Kentucky where James died Feb 10 1810,their children were Benjamin Briant b sept 15 1792.Barbara b nov 9 1795. James C.Cockrum b 1802 they moved to Missouri.All of James and CATHERINES children have not been identafied they had four sons and three daughters.Benjamin married Rachel Rhoades daughter of Joseph Rhoades and Elizabeth Mitchum Bedford co. Pa.Benjamin had 15 children. James C.Cockrum married POlly Hunsaker their children born in missouri, after Polly died James married again and moved to Fulton co Arkansas with his grown children.Two of his sons were killed in the cival war.His son John A.Cockrum was my gg grandfather.I hope this helps you some.
