Jerry: Can't help you with Caroline Hannah, but believe John Wharton Cockrum (b GA 1824) to be the son of John Cockrum and Sarah Wharton. My records indicate 14 children to this marriage; the 14th, Elizabeth/Betsy Cockrum my gg-grandmother who wed a Cockrum/Cochran/Cothren cousin! I've never been able to prove Betsy into this family but there seems to be a great deal of papertrail in existence on the other 13. Have you seen "The History of the Cockrum Family in America?" I have only seen copies of some pages but believe this line is well covered. Happy to share what I have and perhaps someone can identify my Betsy (wed John Cochran in Hall County, GA in 1831 and d. ~1849 in St. Clair County, AL.) To make it more confusing, their eldest daughter, Sarah Emaline Cochran, b. 1833, wed a John P. Whorton! They may have ended up in OK, my line in Bell County, TX. Help!!! Helen Wall, Houston, TX.
