Freeman Cockrill b. Dec., 1887, m. Grace Emily Wood in 1938 in Little Rock, AR. I am interested in finding what ship his ancestor came over on.
Freeman Cockrill's father was Sterling Robertson Cockrill who served as Chief Justice of the Spreme Court of Arkansas and he m. Mary Freeman Ashley in Little Rock.
I have the Cockrill Genealogy Book which lists the names and addresses of all known Cockrill families in the USA. If anyone wants a "look-up" let me know.
I am also interested in finding my father's direct descendants. I always heard that anyone who shared the name spelled as Cockrill in the USA was related to one another.
There was a Cockrill listed in the early New England records and his description was that he "appeared to be of Indian blood". I would also be interested in this information.
