Penny Pyron Cockrell - Tyler Morning Telegraph - (Mar/21/2010) Penny Pyron Cockrell Services for Penny Pyron Cockrell, 64, of Tyler, will be held Monday, March 22, 2010, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Stewart Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cockrell passed away March 20, 2010, in Tyler. She was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Mineola to the late J.D. and Clarice Lewis. She lived most of her life in Tyler. She was employed in the grocery business for 35 years, working for Skaggs, Albertsons and Brookshire Grocery Company. Penny was a people person and loved shopping. Most of all, she loved being with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cockrell was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Mike Pyron, and her sister, Rebecca Lewis. She is survived by a loving family including her husband, Jacky Cockrell of Tyler; four daughters, Becky Hamilton and husband Paul, Michele Gabbard, Kristi Jackson and husband Johnny, all of Price, and Susan Nelson and husband Scott of Hughes Springs; two stepsons, Mark Cockrell and wife Lisa of Grand Saline, and Brian Cockrell and wife Michelle of Fort Worth; brother, John Lewis and wife Ursula of Arlington; sister, Linda Parks of Terrell; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Penny's grandsons, Michael Loosier, J.D. Thomas, Ronnie Mason, Chad Thomas, Johnny Jackson, Colby Jackson and Max Jackson. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service on Monday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
