No, the elder brother of Senator Francis Cockrell isn't the man you're referring to.

I have nothing "special" to share with you, I simply asked people to share if they had genuinely interesting info to share in their online researches.

Perhaps you happen to know that there are DOZENS of Cockrells who bear the name Jerry, Jeremiah, Francis, Marion, and of course, Simon, among dozens of others of typical first names.

I'm constantly finding errors online attributing the wrong information about specific members of this family, due to so many members having the same or similar names, even during the same generation.
