This formum may be they key to me finding my great grandfather's family. He was Abe Cockrell born July 1852 in MS. Father's birthplace: Alabama They had Emma 1880, Beulah 1884, Mary 1885 & Irene 1888 in MS. Between 1888*89, they moved to Clark County Arksansas with a group of her brothers and unknown if any in his family. They had more children in AR, (my Grandfather) Chester Lafayette 1889, Herbert Wayne 1893 and Clara 1895. Sometime between 1895 & 1900, the group went on West to Lamar, Texas outside of Paris. After his death, Laura returned to Clark County, Arkansas. That is where my Grandfather met my Grandmother, etc. The problem is: These are the only two records I can find for Abe. I cannot find an Abraham, Abram, Abe, etc. No one I have contacted who would be his grandchildren left living seems to know ANYTHING about WHO his father was to find anything farther. I have searched high and low through Cockrell Websites, pages, etc. and can't see an Abe, Abraham, etc. Much I can research on my own but this has gotten me at a true dead-end. You woul 'think' it would not be as difficult as it seems to find 'where' he fit in. Since my grandfather was named "Chester" Lafayette - There may be a clude to the name through his father's family. CHESTER. I DO know, the Lafayette came from his mother's side - her brother's middle name. Could the "Chester" be a clue to finding Abraham "Abe"'s father? Any clues, help, insight would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you! Charlotte Notify Administrator about this message?
