Maranda,

I don't know if I told you that I did get a copy of my Grandmother's death certificate. I clearly states her father was Henry Cockrell and there was no mention of being adopted by the Townsend's.

Where it ask's for mothers name, it states unknown as she was adopted. I assume my grandmother felt she was adopted by the Townsends but if that was the case, she knew their name,

I've been taking your suggestions and checked the courts to see if they were appointed guardians, I've also checked for orphan court records with no luck.

I understand there were a lot of orphan trains brought to Missouri, however I do not think she falls in that category as she was definately born in Johnson Co. MO.

I'll let you know ifI have any luck.

She did not have a Social Security number as I believe she passed away just as they started Soc. Sec.
