Hello,
This is interesting information and worth checking up on. I have found no information connecting Simon Cockrell who married Mary Magdaline Vardeman to Moses Cockrell.

I have nothing on any John however Simon Cockrell did receive a deed of gift from Thomas Cockrell and his wife Deborah of Frederick and Prince William Counties of Virginia. He later sold this property to another of their sons named Peter Cockrell of Prince William County, Virginia.

Perhaps you could share with us why you feel that this Simon Cockrell is your Simon Cockrell.
