I recently discovered that I am a descendant of Simon Cockrell through his daughter Sarah (Sally) who married Presley Davis. Their daughter Mary Magdaline Davis married Obadiah Sexton in Morgan Co., KY. I am trying to tie some loose ends up on the Cockrell side of the family. According to my records, collected years ago from my other Cockrell line, I had Simon's parents as John and Susan Trapling and that John died in SW. Virginia in 1759. Unfortunately, I was not interested in this line so I did not take much care in proving the lineage or following up on the remainder of the children. I do show Simon with a sister Susan. For the parents of John Cockrell, I show only a Thomas with no spouse. I have seven children associated with Thomas and I have Thomas' death as 1777 in Loudon Co., VA. I then show the parents of Thomas as John and Lucretia Neale. Thomas is one of six children. This just happens to be where my other Cockrell line comes in which is John and Lucretia's son, John Jr.

I would appreciate your comments and corrections and would entertain exchanging further information.
