My gggrandmother was Eliza Thom(p)son Cockrell who was married to 1) Calvin Maddox and 2) James D.R. Smith. She supposedly was the daughter of Thomas Cockrell and Jane Thomson Burton or Barton. She lived in Pickens Co., AL and also Itawamba Co., MS, but may have been born in Georgia. I heard my gr.grandmother Laura Smith talked of the McShan, Fant, Major and Maddox families a lot when I was a child. Do you have any information you're willing to share on any of these people?
