Hillsman Cockrell was b. 10 Sep 1812 in NC and d. 09 Feb 1882 in Clay Co, MS. He was the son of Jonathan Cockrell and Ann Tant? and grandson of Jacob Cockrell of Nash Co, NC. He had an older brother named William who was b. ca. 1806. I've never seen another given name for Hillsman. I show that he m. 1)Louisa Horn on 15 Jan 1838 in Sumter Co, AL & 2) Amelia Elizabeth Stephens in MS in 1875. I have a partial list of children for Hillsman and Louisa if you're interested. Would be interested in any info you have.
