COCKEREL,LIZA WASH. DC./ELIZA(LIZA)COCKRAN
HI RICK. THESE NAMES ARE MOST SIMILAR:
MY GREAT GRANDMA WAS ELIZA (LIZA) JANE COCKRAN (REAL SIMILAR TO COCKEREL) WHO LIVED IN CALVERT COUNTY MD.
Anyway, Calvert County is located not too far from DC and I know little about this woman. She married my great grandpa MARTIN MCVOY who was from WEST FLORIDA TERRITORY prior to 1888. THEY had 4 known children together: MARTIN N.MCVOY 1888-1961 from the ANACOSTIA AREA OF WASHINGTON DC, ADA HUTCHINS MCVOY who ran a post ofc in Calvert Co. & lived 1891-1975. There were also JOSEPHINE? and
EULALIA who I know nothing at all about. I didn't even know they existed until a cousin in NY wrote that there were 3 sisters,not just ADA.ALSO, there is a "Joseph Murphy McVoy" buried with them in Calvert Co.(No clue who he was either.)says buried 1895 in the MARYLAND state archives, nothing else!

elderly woman. She has black hair in a bun and a long to the floor black dress and looks very sad. I don't know if she was ever
married to anyone else before Martin. I'm not sure about her heritage, as I only knew of my grandpa Martin Mcvoy and his sister Ada. I know NOTHING about the other 2 sisters. Also my grandpa, ELIZA'S SON, only had one eye and the other was a glass eye. No one seems to know exactly why-perhaps cataracts.
?? Also there is family lore of a set of TRIPLETS in this side of my family. Does any of this sound familiar at all? I know that they lived in ANACOSTIA- WASHINGTON DC FOR AT LEAST 35 YEARS. BONNIE TREON gatreon@ctc.net
