We are almost sure that our J.V.Cockrill's Father is one of Simon Cockrell JR.'s sons. He talked about his Uncle Morgan and Aunt Hannah which matches him up to the same line you are talking about but Simon JR. had 10 sons and we can't figure out which one is J.V.'S father. It becomes confusing because their are several Jeremiah Vardeman Cockrells in the same line. Ours was born in MO. in 1839. Something happened to his parents and he went to live with his Uncle Benjamin Franklin Cockrill/Cockrell. We believe he was an only child. He died in Linn County, KS. We think he may be John Miles Cockrell's son. Your J.V.'s nephew. Anyway, If your a Vardeman then we may be Cousins of some number somewhat removed. So Cousin, Thank you so much for the info! Blessings, Tami
