Simon Cockrell married Mary Magdaline Vardeman about 1765 in Virginia. There were 12 children listed as heirs of Simon Cockrell at VanBuren County, Missouri. He wore many hats, Baptist Minister, Virginia Assemblyman, Overseer of the poor, Missouri Legislator, and was known to be Honest and Smart. His children were: Moses Cockrell/Cotterell, John Cockrell, Simon Cockrell Jr., William, James, Joseph, Morgan, Daniel, Alexander, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Sarah and possibly Celia.
Simon moved from Virginia to Kentucky before 1805 and later he resides in Missouri prior to 1820. While the 1820 Census of Missouri is lost, we have many other records showing him there in this time period. I would like to be in contact with any of the descendants of this line.
