Cockeril>VA/Corquerille>France/history

I am searching my daughter's father's Cockerel/Cockeril line out of VA. We believe it is through Presley Cockerill and his wife Margaret who moved from VA to Warren Co KY and then when Presley died, the widow and children moved on to Grayson Co, KY.
I just left a neighbor who is also a Cockerill descendant but of a military family out of Canada and prior to that out of Normandy france. He showed me papers that say the Cockerill name originates from France and spelled Corquerille. The coat of arms has 4 cocks on the front for the four brothers and has roses on the "frame" for fighting in the War of the Roses. Does anyone else know anything about this history?
