Simon Cockrell is really a Cockrell. I refer to the man who was a Virginia State Legislator, and a Baptist Minister each position worthy of note. His story is in various history books of Virginia and he was also a Missouri State Legislator later in life. There are many court documents about hiis life and much research has gone into this family history.
I read the posting you mention about Peter Cottrill and his descendants. Thank you for the lead.
If a researcher of this Cottrill line were to follow the actual documentation as we have and collect the deeds as we have then the results could be compared.
The family history of Reverend Simon Cockrell is lengthy and well documented. Some would consider it over documented and have commented to this effect. I refer to several postings on this site by myself.
