Thank you, just finding your response to my query....Did your wife have knowledge of this line of Cockes? /Walter Cocke and Mary Mason, children: Thomas, John and Anne.
/Thomas Cocke and Hannah Hamlin, children: Lemuel and Elizabeth. /Lemuel Cocke and Jane Browne, children: Henry, Richard, Lemeul, Thomas, Elizabeth, Anne and Sally. /Henry Cocke and Katherine Holt, children: Henry Jr, David Clinton, Elizabeth, Katherine and Lemuel. /Henry Cocke Jr and Lucy Terrell, children: Amelia, Benjamin, Cathilin, Lemuel, Mary, Solomon, Thomas, William, Henry Macon, and Samuel M. /Samuel M. Cocke and Dorcas Elouise Festerman, children: Henry Harris, James Alexander, Samuel A. and Leo N. /James Alexander Cocke and Martha Jefferson Goode, children: Ola, Effie, Eula, Samuel M, Johnny and William. My parents were /Samuel M. Cocke and Lillie Ellen Barkhimer...This Cocke line came from Eng..to VA..(Surry CO.) Henry Jr, left VA for NC, his son, Samuel M. was in Panola and Tate Co,MS until his death in 1896...My grandfather moved to Pike Co,AR in 1900 & 1910, Ouachita Co,AR in 1920, McCurtain Co, OK. where he died in 1926...
Any help with this family when they were in VA will be appreciated...where were they located? Thanks, Dee butterflywings@bellsouth.net
