The Cockes you mention are in the Richard Cocke line. In my line (Dr. William & Elizabeth Catesby Cocke) their grandson, John Catesby Cocke (my ggggfather) m. Winifred Thornton, da. of Col. Presley Thornton & Elizabeth _____. This Thornton family was in Northumberland & Culpepper COS. Can you connect to this Thornton line?
