Looking for the parents of Allen Cocke/Cox, Sr. who appeared on the 1779 SC census. his property was on the Saluda River. wifes name unknown, but names of children were:
James, Robert, Allen Cox,Jr b.ca. 1770,
Daniel, Rebecca, Ruthy, Mary, and two unnamed daughters.
Allen Cox died abt 1794, and some of his children had Lt. Elias Brooks as their guardian.
I recently saw a file which had an Allen Cocke b.abt 1740 in Henrico, Va. with a son named Allen Cocke,Jr. Could these be the same people?
