Thomas Cocke d.1587 of Pickthorne, Stottesdon Parish, Shropshire named only daughters in his will, and would be too old to be the father of John who d. 1630.

A John Cocke , baptized about the right time in Stottesdon Parish, was the son of a Thomas Cocke, and may be:

John Cocke d. 1630 lived at The Heath and Wallfurlonge (according to his will), both within 2 km north of Pickthorne in Shropshire. He had a son Richard b. 9/5/1602, who could be (my grandmother thought he was):

Richard Cocke the Immigrant, of Bremo, Henrico County, VA. b. about 1600, came to VA. about 1630.

Richard's son Thomas Cocke, who lived at Malvern Hills, Henrico County, described himself in a deed as "Thomas Cocke of Pickthorne Farm in Henrico County. VA." So there must be a connection, but not a direct line.
