"Cockes and Cousins" gives that marriage date for James COCKE (1666-1721) and Elizabeth PLEASANTS d/o John and Jane (Larcome) PLEASANTS. However, the fact that the book you mentioned calls her "Mrs. Elizabeth Pleasants" is disturbing. Could Mrs. be a misreading of Miss? The William and Thomas COCKE who were securities for the marriage were probably brothers of James. The will of Jane (Larcome) Pleasants dated 2 Jan 1708 mentioned her daughter Elizabeth COCKE as well as Elizabeth's daughter Elizabeth COCKE (Jane's granddaughter). Basically the dates and names fit with what is known of the COCKE and PLEASANTS families, but I have not researched much further. Hope that helps, Kay (Offutt) Schmidt 7th gt-granddaughter of John and Jane (Larcome) PLEASANTS Notify Administrator about this message?
