Where was George Cockburn from?

I am descended from James and Biddy (Wood) Cockburn of Forsyth County, Georgia. The LDS files list his parents as George and Elizabeth (Snyder) Cockburn, but does not give their places of birth. Anyone with a clue? James & Biddy's daughter Mary married my g-g grandfather John Wesley Mashburn in 1851. He died from war wounds 5/15/65. She died in 1923 and is buried at Evergreen Methodist Church in St. Clair County, Alabama.
