There were two Clark T. COCKBURNs. The Clark T. Cockburn, age 2, on the 1860 Census is the son of Russel Cockburn. Russel had a brother named Clark T. Cockburn, whom he named his son after. Clark the eldre can be found on the 1850 Census as C.T. Cockburn, age 38. Russell and Clark were close, and they even married sisters, Celia and Sarah Carroll, respectively. They moved to Arkansas with their wives and with their parents-in-law, Dennis Carroll and Nancy Waggoner Carroll.
