It's not likely, but it is possible. The laws regarding the ownership of land at that time were those of Great Britain, and while original grants of land by royal governors were limited to adult men, the definition of "adult" was not very well-defined, and it became more confusing when that original grant was subsequently deeded or willed to another person. What was legal and permissable under one royal governor might not be legal and permissable under his successor. I have an ancestor in neighboring Martin co who became a land owner when he was only eleven years old, John Ferrill in 1779 (I think). My answer is still the same, not likely but possible.
