I have Cyrus Cogburn b. ca1782 NC. In Edgefield Co SC in 1817 > Washington Co GA 1820 > Talbot Co GA 1830 > Rusk Co TX 1850.

Sons: Jackson (my ggrandfather), Tomlinson Ford & Levi.

They were all potters and Cyrus was known as one of the early pioneers who brought the alkaline glaze method of pottery out of Edgefield and helped to spread that method westward.

Do any of these names match with yours?
