Have been studying the1793 Grayson (Va.)County Marriage Register and the DAR "Unrecorded Mg. Registers for Carroll County, Va"., covering 1850's. In both of these, there is a John Cock who is a minister performing mgs,some Cock family members beginning very early 1800's. One & same John Cock. ?relationship?. I believe the John Tolbert & Alley Cock mg. of 1834 is a family line. An Aris Tolbert's death certificate names his parents as John Tolbert & Alice Cox. Did any Cock or Goad families move westward into Illinois. I am perplexed as to Aris' arrival in Logan County Illinois by 1870. I am have some questions re the "jogoadbe.simplenet. site as approx dates of events and ages make some marriages very late for grooms! No source documentations listed. Would like "conversation" with Cock & Goad family members regarding these issues. Thanks. Gladys
